Write-Off Categories Explained (Cat A, B, S, N)

The four categories
Insurance write-off categories indicate damage severity. Category A (scrap only) and Category B (break for parts) cannot legally return to the road. Category S (structural) and Category N (non-structural) can be repaired and re-registered but always carry the write-off marker.
